Wellesley Bolt, the father of eight-time Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt, has passed away following a prolonged illness.
Legendary Jamaican track star Usain Bolt has lost his dad, Wellesley Bolt, who passed away at the age of 68.
According to Jamaica Gleaner, Wellesley Bolt died after prolonged illness, He ran a shop in Sherwood Content, Trelawny for 15 years up to 2017.

During Bolt’s active years as a track athlete, his dad was mostly at his major championships apart from Beijing 2008 when he missed him winning his first Olympic 100m and 200m gold medals.
His dad played vital roles in his career success right from his high school years and carried out vital actions to keep him disciplined.
