In a frustrating turn of events for the home side, Arsenal were held to a draw by a resolute Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Gunners, brimming with confidence, head into the game on the back of beating Ipswich 4-0 on Sunday.
However, they had a disappointing outing against Palace, finding it difficult to break down the visitors, with the game ending in a 2-2 draw.
As it happened
Bukayo Saka, who sustained a knock in the victory over Ipswich, has been named on the bench by Mikel Arteta for the match against Crystal Palace. He has otherwise selected a strong starting lineup.
Key attackers Jean-Philippe Mateta and Ismaila Sarr were named on the bench by the Crystal Palace manager with the FA Cup match against Aston Villa on Saturday on his mind.
Arsenal took an early lead with Jakub Kiwior’s header from a corner kick, but they failed to capitalise on their early lead, allowing Palace to grow in confidence and equalise with a strike from Eberechi Eze from just outside the box.

Arteta’s team persisted, pressing for another goal before halftime. Trossard skilfully manoeuvred within the box, creating space for a shot that deflected off a defender and into the net.
In the second half, Arsenal looked like they would steal the win, but Saliba’s error late in the game gifted Mateta the equaliser.
The game ended in a 2-2 draw and the Gunners will now focus their attention on their Champions League clash against PSG.
