Bring Haaland and Williams
The forwards being spoken about are Erling Haaland and Nico Williams, two players the Blaugrana actively made moves for in the past.
The Norwegian was one of Laporta’s earliest targets in his current stint as Barcelona president. He famously met with the player’s entourage to discuss a possible move before Manchester City eventually beat the chasing pack to the goal.
Nico Williams was a target Barcelona chased intently last summer; however, the winger opted to remain at his boyhood club, Athletic Club.

After failing to land Williams, the Blaugrana trusted Raphinha in the position for the season. And while he has shone in the role, recording the most goal contributions in the squad, Barcelona are still out for a left winger.
Hence Haaland and Nico Williams were suggested to Laporta, who played down the possibility of bringing in either player. “In life, almost nothing is impossible, but I don’t think it’s what we’re thinking right now. A signing like this… He’s also just renewed with Manchester City,” Laporta commented on Haaland during an interview with TV3, per Football Espana.
“Nico Williams was one of the candidates last season, but we decided on Olmo, and other options are currently being considered.”
By other candidates being considered for the left wing position, Laporta is most probably referring to Luis Díaz and Marcus Rashford. The Barcelona sporting director, Deco, is an admirer of Diaz, while Rashford is believed to be pressing for a move to the Catalan giants
