The 26-year-old has had a sensational season at Sporting CP, racking up a jaw-dropping 52 goals in just 49 appearances.
His explosive form has made him one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards, and Arsenal are now firmly in the lead for his signature, despite competition from Manchester United.
Berta had previously attempted to sign Gyokeres during his time at Atletico Madrid and is now pushing to bring him to the Emirates.

While Gyokeres has yet to make a final decision, he is said to favour a move to north London over Old Trafford.
His English experience with Coventry City also gives Arsenal added confidence that he can hit the ground running.
With Osimhen’s price tag proving unattainable, Arsenal reportedly believe that they have found a more realistic, and arguably just as potent, alternative in Gyokeres.
