Nigerian star Chidera Ejuke’s match-winning performance against Real Sociedad earned him praise from Sevilla head coach García Pimienta.
Sevilla fought hard to claim a narrow 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad on Sunday in the Laliga.
Saúl Ñíguez provided a well-timed pass to Ejuke, who clinically placed his shot into the bottom right corner, securing the only goal of the match in the second half.
He now has two goals and one assist in 17 league games this season, as Sevilla’s win moved them up to 10th place in La Liga.

Pimienta speaks highly of Ejuke
Pimienta was quick to recognise Ejuke’s return to form after a three-month injury layoff in his post-game remarks.
According to Sevilla’s official website, “When he got injured he was in great form. He was practically out for three months, with what that means to then get back into shape.

The Sevilla boss also mentioned that new signing Rubén Vargas has impacted Ejuke’s position on the squad, as the two players have been directly competing for playing time.
He said, “Vargas is at a very high level and he had to wait. Today Rubén’s hip problems prevented him from participating.
“He tried but he was honest. The opportunity has come for Ejuke, who did very well . He had some very good minutes also on a defensive level for the team. We are very happy for him too.”
